Aurobindo International School Students Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti and LalBahadurShastriJayanti with "Shramdaan" Activity

Aurobindo International School observed a day of tribute and service as they celebrated the birth anniversaries of two great leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and LalBahadurShastri. The school's Principal, Ms.KarunaNagpal, led the students in a unique "Shramdaan" (voluntary labor) activity to honor the legacy of these eminent figures.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, students and staff of Aurobindo International School came together to remember the Mahatma's teachings of truth, non-violence, and community service. The day commenced with a solemn assembly where the significance of Gandhi Ji's life and principles was discussed. Ms.KarunaNagpal, in her address, emphasized the importance of Gandhian values in today's world and encouraged students to be the change they wish to see.

Following the assembly, the school organized a "Shramdaan" activity, where students actively participated in cleaning and beautifying their school premises. This hands-on experience allowed them to connect with Gandhi Ji's emphasis on self-reliance, cleanliness, and community welfare.

In addition to Gandhi Jayanti, the school also celebrated the birth anniversary of LalBahadurShastri, India's second Prime Minister, on the same day. ShastriJi's unwavering dedication to the nation and his famous slogan "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" (Hail the Soldier, Hail the Farmer) were the focus of the commemoration. Students paid homage to this great leader by offering a symbolic "Shramdaan" to honor the hardworking farmers and brave soldiers who serve the country.

Ms.KarunaNagpal, while addressing the gathering, spoke about LalBahadurShastri's humility and simplicity, traits that made him an exceptional leader. She urged the students to draw inspiration from ShastriJi's life and work towards a stronger and self-reliant India.

The "Shramdaan" activity not only paid tribute to these iconic leaders but also instilled a sense of responsibility, cleanliness, and community engagement among the students. It was a day of reflection, action, and unity at Aurobindo International School, where the young minds imbibed the values of Mahatma Gandhi and LalBahadurShastri to become responsible citizens of tomorrow.

The celebration concluded with a pledge by the students to continue their commitment to community service and nation-building, keeping the legacies of these two great leaders alive.
